I spent this morning at our local training ground, Lake Pleasant, and was reminded how good we have it in the Phoenix area for scuba training. Although I was not in the water for an extended period of time I was amazed at the visibility and the amount of fish that I saw. From large carp to smaller bass and tons of newly hatched babies in the shallow water there was plenty of opportunity to work on my image capturing skills, that is always a work in progress. While other areas have to deal with lakes that are better described as ponds or quarries with cold water and limited visibility we enjoy a rather large lake with numerous outstanding dive areas. Get bored with one simply move to another and I am sure you will discover something new. If you have access to a boat your diving opportunities expand even more, with access to off-shore islands and reefs that offer even more wildlife as well better visibility along with some very interesting topography. We do indeed have it pretty good here with Lake Pleasant in our back yard and now is a great time to go explore. Stop in and rent a cylinder or two, a good time awaits you.
